World Book Day March 2017

Thursday 2nd March is the 20th anniversary of World Book day and DSLV have celebrated this in their usual enthusiastic fashion!

The Nursery and Primary phase were given themes to follow:

  • Nursery and Reception Classes - Traditional Stories
  • Years 1 and 2 - Harry Potter
  • Years 3 and 4 - Where's Wally
  • Years 5 and 6 - Alice in Wonderland

The Secondary & Sixth Form were invited to come in dressed as a character from a book that has been turned into a film.  All sorts of characters have been seen around the school including Hagrid, Fantastic Mr Fox, Sleeping Beauty, Willy Wonka, Cat in a Hat and some very scary people from 'The Walking Dead'.

World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children.  Pupils were asked to bring a donation of £1 which will help to support Book Aid in their fundraising to send books to African Schools and libraries.

We would like to thank our Parents, Carers and Staff for supporting this event.
